Watchdog says limits use of VyprVPN, Opera VPN services from Thu

MOSCOW, Jun 17 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has imposed restrictions on the use of services VyprVPN and Opera VPN with the exclusion of the companies exploiting VPN services in continuous technological processes, the watchdog said on Thursday in a statement.

“In accordance with the regulation of response to the threats of skirting limitations of access to child pornography, suicidal, drug-promoting and other banned content, the use of VPN services VyprVPN and Opera VPN is restricted from June 17, 2021,” the authority said.

The VPN services were considered threats under the government’s ruling.
